2.1. The Government may, by regulation and after consulting with the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec, determine in what cases and on what conditions the Société imposes on the debtor, as recovery measures, penalties provided for in the Highway Safety Code (chapter C-24.2), as well as the consequences arising from non-compliance with the penalties imposed and, for those purposes, determine the applicable rules of the Code. The regulation may also prescribe, among the regulatory provisions determining penalties provided for in that Code, those whose contravention constitutes an offence and renders the offender liable to a fine, the amount of which is set by the regulation.
