2816. In the event that the original of a document, entered in a register required to be kept by law and retained by the officer in charge of the register, is lost or is in the possession of the adverse party or of a third person without collusion on the part of the party invoking it, a copy of the document is also authentic if it is attested by the public officer who is its depositary or, if it has been deposited or filed in the Archives nationales, by the Keeper of the Archives nationales du Québec.

2816.
