In default proceedings, the special clerk may render judgment if the sole subject matter of the application is the price of a service contract or the sales price of movable property; the special clerk may also render judgment if the application seeks payment of an amount of money clearly stated in an authentic act or private writing.
The special clerk renders judgment on the face of the application, the exhibits supporting the plaintiff’s claims and an affidavit by the plaintiff attesting that the amount claimed is owed to the plaintiff.
The special clerk may also, after the evidence stage, render judgment on any other matter except family matters.
