30. The insurance contribution payable on issue of a probationary licence is the amount obtained by adjusting, in accordance with section 45, the sum of insurance contributions as follows:
(1) the insurance contribution determined as follows:
(a) where payment of the insurance contribution is due in 2008, 2009 or in 2010, according to the total number of demerit points entered on the person’s record during the 2 years preceding the date of licence issue, as shown in the table below:

Insurance contribution for 2012:
(b) where the year of issue of a probationary licence is after 2010, the insurance contribution is set by indexing on 1 January of the year of issue in accordance with sections 42 and 43, the insurance contribution for the preceding year, before adjustment under section 45, set under this paragraph with respect to the classes of probationary licence sought and according to the total number of demerit points entered on the person’s record during the 2 years preceding the date of probationary licence issue;
(2) the insurance contribution shown in the table in subparagraph 2 of the first paragraph of section 27 corresponding to the total number of occurrences of licence revocation or suspension of the right to a licence under section 180 of the Highway Safety Code (chapter C-24.2) entered on the person’s record during the 5 years preceding the date of probationary licence issue.
