Act to recognize bodies promoting international exchanges for young people
This Act was formerly entitled: “An Act respecting the Office franco-québécois pour la jeunesse”. The title of the Act was replaced by section 9 of chapter 18 of the statutes of 2006.

CHAPTER I
OFFICE FRANCO-QUÉBÉCOIS POUR LA JEUNESSE

1. The Office franco-québécois pour la jeunesse, established under the Protocol, signed on 9 February 1968, concerning exchanges between Québec and France in matters of physical education, sports and popular education made pursuant to the Franco-Québec agreement of 27 February 1965 on a program of exchange and cooperation in the field of education is a legal person.
The protocol governing the Office and any subsequent amendment made to it shall be published in the Gazette officielle du Québec.

2. The provisions of Title V of Book I of the Civil Code shall apply to the Office, which shall also be governed by the provisions of the said protocol, of the amendments thereto and of this Act; such provisions shall prevail over any inconsistent provision of any other law applicable to the Office.

3. The Office shall have the rights and privileges of a mandatary of the State.

4. The Office shall be composed of the persons who are or shall become members of its Board of Directors.
The members of the Board of Directors of the Office who are designated by the Gouvernement du Québec shall remain in office, notwithstanding the expiry of their term, until reappointed or replaced.

6. The annual report of the Secretary General of the Québec section of the Office shall be submitted to the Minister entrusted with the carrying out of this Act, after approval by the Board of Directors of the Office; the Minister shall lay such report before the National Assembly if it is in session, or, if it is not in session, within 30 days from the opening of the following session.

CHAPTER II
OFFICE QUÉBEC/WALLONIE-BRUXELLES POUR LA JEUNESSE

8. The Agence Québec/Wallonie-Bruxelles pour la jeunesse, established under the Agreement signed on 31 May 1984 between the Gouvernement du Québec and the Executive of the Communauté française de Belgique concerning the Agence Québec/Wallonie-Bruxelles pour la jeunesse made pursuant to the cooperation agreement of 3 November 1982 and whose name was changed to Office Québec/ Wallonie-Bruxelles pour la jeunesse under the Agreement signed on 29 March 2007 between the Gouvernement du Québec and the Gouvernement de la Communauté française de Belgique concerning the Office Québec/Wallonie-Bruxelles pour la jeunesse, is a legal person.
The agreement governing the Office and any subsequent amendment made to it shall be published in the Gazette officielle du Québec.

9. 12. After having been approved by the board of directors of the Office, the annual report of the Secretaries General of the Office shall be transmitted to the Minister responsible for the administration of this Act; the Minister shall table the report in the National Assembly within 30 days of receiving it or, if the Assembly is not sitting, within 30 days of resumption.

CHAPTER III
MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS

13. The Agence established as a legal person under section 8 succeeds the Secrétariat québécois de l’Agence Québec/Wallonie-Bruxelles pour la jeunesse established on 5 June 1991 under Part III of the Companies Act (chapter C‐38), and acquires the rights and assumes the obligations of that legal person, which is dissolved.

REPEAL SCHEDULE

In accordance with section 9 of the Act respecting the consolidation of the statutes and regulations (chapter R-3), chapter O-5 of the Revised Statutes, in force on 1 January 2007, is repealed effective from the coming into force of chapter O-10 of the Revised Statutes.
