Regulation respecting terms and conditions for a permit to be issued by the Ordre des opticiens d’ordonnances du Québec

DIVISION I
DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION
1.01. In this Regulation, unless the context indicates otherwise,
(a)  “Order” means the Ordre des opticiens d’ordonnances du Québec;
(b)  “candidate” means a person who requests his permit, who has complied with the terms and conditions required under this Regulation and who is the holder of a diploma recognized by the Government under the first paragraph of section 184 of the Professional Code (chapter C-26) or recognized equivalent by the board of directors, or whose training has been recognized equivalent by the board of directors;
(c)  “secretary” means the secretary of the Order.

DIVISION II
GENERAL PROVISION
2.01. Every candidate, in addition to the conditions required by the Dispensing Opticians Act (chapter O-6), must, in order to obtain a permit, comply with the following conditions:
(a)  submit an application for a permit made in the form in Schedule 1;
(b)  pass the professional examination of the Order.

DIVISION III
PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION
3.01. The professional examination is held in Montréal, at least once a year, on the dates determined by the board of directors.

3.02. At least 10 days prior to the date of the professional examination, the candidate must deposit the sum of 50 $ at the office of the Order.

3.03. The professional examination shall be of a duration of 3 hours and shall deal with professional laws and regulations respecting the practice of the profession of dispensing optician.

3.04. To pass the professional examination, the candidate must obtain a mark of 60%. Where he does not obtain a mark of 60%, the candidate may take a supplementary examination to be held not later than 3 months after the date of the last examination.

3.05. The secretary shall communicate the result of the professional examination to the candidate by mail.

3.06. The secretary shall forward to the board of directors the record of the candidate who has passed the professional examination and recommend that the board of directors issue a permit to the candidate.

3.07. Where the board of directors has issued a permit to a candidate, the secretary shall notify the latter that, following payment of the fee fixed by the board of directors, he shall make his entry on the roll.
