43. The Government may authorize any corporation which applies to it therefor by petition, with the authorization of the bishop of the place, to keep civil registers of interments and disinterments, which shall be registers of civil status under the meaning of the Civil Code.
The Government may also grant similar authorization to any cemetery corporation already existing which applies for it with the consent of the bishop of the place.
When such authorization is granted, it shall be for the bishop of the place to designate the clergyman to be charged with the keeping of such registers of interments and disinterments.
