408. Every person who aids, abets or participates in the commission by another of the offence called personation, or who rewards the committing of such offence, shall be liable, in addition to any other penalty, to a fine of five hundred to one thousand dollars, and to an imprisonment of one year to five years and, on failure to pay the fine, to an additional imprisonment of six months to two years.
