285. (1)  The returning-officer, the election-clerk or any elector appointed for such purpose by the returning-officer, shall remain, during the days and hours fixed for voting in a special polling-station, at some central point near such polling-station, prepared to provide voters with the requisite attestations.
(2)  Before he acts, the elector appointed under subsection 1 of this section shall make oath well and faithfully to perform the duties of his office, without partiality or favour. He shall be entitled to the same remuneration as a clerk of a special polling-station.
(3)  During the two days following the date of nomination of candidates, the returning-officer shall give to each of them a written notice of the exact places where such attestations will be issued.
