Section 37
Disposition versions
37. The term of office of the churchwardens shall be three years from the beginning of the fiscal year following the month during which the meeting of parishioners must be held for the election of churchwardens.
However, among the churchwardens elected or appointed following the constitution of the fabrique, one-third shall remain in office only until the end of the fiscal year during which they were elected or appointed, another third shall remain in office only until the end of the fiscal year following that of their election or appointment; the term of the last third of such churchwardens shall expire at the end of the second fiscal year following that of their election or appointment.
If the choice of those churchwardens whose term of office is not to expire at the end of the second fiscal year following that of their election has not been made at the time of their election, it shall be made by a drawing of lots at the meeting of parishioners which is to elect their successors.
