37. The Court of Québec has jurisdiction, to the exclusion of the Superior Court, to hear and determine applications in adoption matters.
In other youth matters, jurisdiction and procedure are determined by special Acts.
If an adoption or youth protection matter is already before the Court of Québec, it may rule on any related application concerning child custody, emancipation, the exercise of parental authority, suppletive tutorship or tutorship requested by the director of youth protection. If it rules on an application concerning child custody, it may also rule on a related application concerning child support.
