109. The local council is composed of a mayor and six councillors elected by the electors of the municipality or, as the case may be, elected or appointed in accordance with Division VIII of Chapter VI of Part I of the Act respecting elections in certain municipalities (chapter E-2.1).
Upon a resolution of the council of any municipality approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs, the seat of each councillor shall be designated by a number, and the municipal council must, by resolution, assign, to each councillor, the number designating his seat.
