49. Section 629 of the said Act is replaced for the municipality by the following section:
629. If there are no funds or if those at the disposal of the treasurer are not sufficient, the council shall, immediately after the notification of the judgment, order the treasurer, by resolution, to levy, by an equal assessment upon all the members of the municipality and its residents, being of age in the case of natural persons, a sum sufficient to enable it to pay the amount due with the interest and costs.
The council may also proceed by way of a loan by-law.
