49. In exercising its powers, the Commission, each of its members and any person designated by the Minister under section 17.8 may inquire into any matter within the competence of the Commission.

49. In exercising its powers, the Commission or a person designated generally or specially by the president or one of the vice-presidents may inquire into any matter within its jurisdiction.

49. The investigators of the Department, the Commission, its members, its investigators and any person appointed by it under section 20 shall have the powers and immunities of commissioners appointed under the Act respecting public inquiry commissions (chapter C-37).
Such persons and the Commission shall at all times have access to all books, registers, accounts and other records of any carrier; any person who has custody, possession or control of such books, registers, accounts, records or other documents must give communication of them to such persons and facilitate their examination.
