327. Not later than one hour before the opening of the polling station, the returning officer gives the deputy returning officer a ballot box, the directives concerning the work of the polling officers, a poll book, the required polling materials, the documents needed for the counting of votes and the list of electors for the polling subdivision identifying the changes made by the special board of revisors and including particulars about voting in the advance poll and at the returning officer’s office.

He shall also give to him a sealed envelope, bearing his initials on the seal, containing a number of ballot papers at least equal to the number of electors entered on the list, without splitting a ballot paper booklet, plus 25.

At the end of the first paragraph, the following words are not in force: “and at the returning officer’s office”. Those words will come into force on the date set by order of the Government (2006, c. 17, s. 39).

Within three days before the polling, the returning officer shall give to the deputy returning officer a ballot box, an abstract of this Act and the regulations, the list of electors of the polling subdivision, the list of the electors who voted in the advance poll, a poll book, the materials required for the poll and the documents necessary for the counting of the votes.

He shall also give to him a sealed envelope, bearing his initials on the seal, containing a number of ballot papers equal to the number of electors entered on the list plus 25.
