D-11.1 - Act to facilitate the disclosure of wrongdoings relating to public bodies

34. Anyone who hinders or attempts to hinder the Public Protector, the Commission municipale du Québec or a designated officer in the exercise of the functions of office, refuses to provide any information or a document they are required to provide or refuses to make it available, or conceals or destroys any document relevant to an audit or investigation is guilty of an offence and is liable to a fine of $5,000 to $30,000 in the case of a natural person and to a fine of $15,000 to $100,000 in other cases.
For a subsequent offence, the minimum and maximum fines prescribed in this section are doubled.
