16. The lists of electors shall be established within the 18 days following the day on which the National Assembly was informed of the question or bill contemplated in section 7.

16. The lists of electors shall be prepared in accordance with Chapter III of Title IV of the Election Act (chapter E-3.3) and, where required, in accordance with the relevant provisions of Appendix 2, and they are the only official lists that may be used for a referendum.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, where the writ is issued before 30 June following the preparation of the list of electors under section 39 of the Election Act, that list shall be the list of electors used for the referendum and it shall be revised in accordance with Appendix 2.

16. The electoral lists prepared in accordance with Title IV of the Election Act (chapter E-3.2), and, where required, in accordance with the relevant provisions of Appendix 2, are the only official lists and the only lists that may be used for a referendum.
Notwithstanding the first paragraph, if electoral lists have been prepared following an enumeration on the basis of the new electoral divisions, or in the case provided for in section 39.2 of the Act respecting electoral representation (chapter R-24.1), following a dividing up of the electors registered on the electoral lists in force, only those lists are official and may be used for a referendum. They are revised in accordance with Appendix 2.

The electoral lists of urban and rural polling subdivisions, prepared and revised in accordance with the Act respecting electoral lists (chapter L-4.1), and, where required, in accordance with the relevant provisions of Appendix 2, are the only official lists and the only lists that may be used for a referendum.
