19.1. Where a person parcels out a subdivision lot owned by him and situated, in whole or in part, in a territory covered by a plan contemplated in section 19, the identification of the parcelling out shall be effected by the assignment, by way of replacement, of a separate number to each part resulting therefrom.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if any such part is to be annexed to a contiguous lot, identification is effected by assigning a separate number to the new lot so formed.
