E-20.001 - Act respecting the exercise of certain municipal powers in certain urban agglomerations

179. As of the day on which all the councils of the related municipalities are operational as set out in section 178 or the day on which all the mayors of those related municipalities who have been elected at the election referred to in section 121 have made the oath, whichever is later, the urban agglomeration council is or may be established, depending on whether the rules set out in the order made under section 135 prescribe that all the members of that council sit on the council by virtue of office or that some members must be designated.
The urban agglomeration council may perform the acts referred to in the first paragraph of section 178 and section 179.1 and, to that end, exists as if the urban agglomeration existed in the form provided for in Title II between the day on which it is established and the date on which the city is reorganized.
