101.1. The Council shall fix the term of office of its chairman and vice-chairman.
However, a person who ceases to be a member of the Council shall cease, at the same time, to be the chairman or vice-chairman thereof.
For the purposes of the second paragraph, a person shall cease to be a member of the Council at the expiry of his term as member of the council of a municipality even if his new term begins immediately thereafter.

101.1. The chairman or the vice-chairman of the Council is appointed for a four year term.
However, if he ceases to be a member of the Council before the expiry of that term, he ceases at the same time to be the chairman or the vice-chairman.
For the purposes of the second paragraph, a person does not cease to be a member of the Council at the expiry of his term as a member of the council of a municipality if he is reelected at the election held after the expiry of his term, if, within the prescribed time, he makes the oath required of any elected person and if his reelection enables him to again become a member of the Council as the representative of the same municipality.
