44. An ambulance service means any service which, in keeping with the agency’s three-year pre-hospital emergency service organization plan and the protocols determined by the Minister, furnishes pre-hospital emergency care intended to prevent a person’s condition from deteriorating and transports the person in an ambulance to a centre operated by a receiving institution or between the facilities maintained by one or more institutions.
The provisions of this division do not apply to an enterprise that uses a vehicle to provide rescue services free of charge on land owned or held under a concession or lease by the enterprise provided that there is no indication that may lead to the belief that the vehicle is an ambulance.
