77. In case of the total and permanent disability or of the death of a municipal policeman arising out of or in the course of his work otherwise then in the case provided for in section 76, the municipality must pay to the policeman, his widow and children, as the case may be, compensation the amount of which must correspond to the difference between the benefits they receive under the Workmen’s Compensation Act and a supplemental pension plan, if any, and the benefits to which they would be entitled if section 76 of this act was applicable to them.
