286. The director of a police force must notify the Minister, without delay, of any allegation against a police officer or a peace officer within the meaning of section 14 of the Anti-Corruption Act (chapter L-6.1) concerning a criminal offence, unless the director considers, after consulting the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions, that the allegation is frivolous or unfounded.
The same obligation applies to the competent authority in respect of a special constable.
The director of a police force must also notify the Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes without delay in the case of an allegation against a police officer concerning a criminal offence of a sexual nature committed in the performance of duties.
