54. For the purposes of sections 50 to 54.10, the word parent means the father, mother or, failing them, the guardian of a child who attends school.

54. For the purposes of sections 50 to 53, the word parent means the father, mother or, failing them, the guardian of a child enrolled in a school on the preceding 30th of September, and the word school means one or more groups of children and teachers under one principal or one person responsible, if there is no principal.
