250. The school board must, when requested to do so by the Minister, make a census of the children 16 years of age and under domiciled in the municipality or a part thereof.
The census shall indicate for each child,
(1)  his name, age, sex and domiciliary address;
(2)  his father’s name, if he is living;
(3)  his mother’s name, if she is living;
(4)  his tutor’s or guardian’s name, if he has a tutor or a guardian;
(5)  if he attends school in the municipality;
(6)  if he attends school outside the municipality;
(7)  if he takes night courses or special courses during part of the year; or
(8)  if he does not attend school; and, in the case of a child of from six to 15 years, inclusive, the reason he does not attend school.
If the school board does not make such a census when so requested, the Minister shall have it made at the expense of the school municipality.

250. The secretary-treasurer shall make, every year, during the month of May, a census of the children domiciled in the school municipality, and the school commissioners and trustees shall see that he performs such duty.
In such census, the secretary-treasurer shall distinguish between boys and girls and between children of each of the ages up to twenty years, inclusive.
The age to be entered shall be that of the child concerned on the thirtieth of June following.
For each such child the secretary-treasurer shall indicate:
(a)  his domiciliary address;
(b)  his father’s surname, given names, occupation and date of birth, if the latter is living;
(c)  his mother’s surname, given names, occupation and date of birth, if she is living;
(d)  his tutor’s name and surname if he has one;
(e)  if he attends school in the municipality;
(f)  if he attends school outside the municipality;
(g)  if he takes night courses or special courses during part of the year; or
(h)  if he does not attend school; and, in the case of a child of from six to fifteen years, inclusive, the reason why he does not attend school.
If the secretary does not make such census at the said date, the Minister shall have it made at the expense of the school municipality.
