236. If it be necessary to purchase or enlarge a school site, to build, rebuild, enlarge or repair one or more schools or dependencies, to purchase or repair school furniture or equipment, the school commissioners or trustees shall, for such purpose, tax the whole municipality.
In municipalities where, on the first of July 1961, a special assessment is already imposed in a particular district, the school commissioners or trustees, with the approval of the Minister, may at any time apportion such assessment on the whole municipality.
