106. (Repealed).

106. Before 15 August 1978, a returning officer shall be appointed by the Council. He shall not hold any other office in the Cree Regional Authority and is entitled to the remuneration fixed by the Council.
The person appointed in virtue of the first paragraph exercises his functions only for the first election of the representatives of the municipal corporations on the Council, of the chairman and vice-chairman of the Cree Regional Authority, and of the representatives of the communities on the Board of Compensation; thereafter, he is appointed in the manner provided for in section 50.
