59. A person who has been domiciled in Québec for at least one year may be the subject of an application for a change of name.
A child under one year of age, born and domiciled in Québec, is considered to have been domiciled in Québec for at least one year.

59. A person of full age who is a Canadian citizen and who has been domiciled in Québec for at least one year may apply for a change of name. If the application concerns the surname, it is also valid as an application for the person’s minor children who bear the same surname or part of that surname.
That person may also apply for a change to the given names of his minor children or for the addition of a part taken from the person’s own surname to his children’s surname.
