52. The Government shall pay the damages for which a licensee is, in the opinion of the Minister of Justice or according to a judgment of the court, liable to third parties in consequence of an accident resulting directly from hunting for recreational purposes in Québec, but the amount paid by the Government shall not exceed $10 000 in addition to interest and the costs respeting such sum.
Notwithstanding any provision of an insurance contract, the Government is bound to contribute to the payment of the damages for which the holder of a hunting licence is liable only to the extent to which they exceed the obligation of an insurer under a liability insurance policy covering the same damages.
