C-37.2 - Act respecting the Communauté urbaine de Montréal

123. The Government or one of its ministers or agencies may delegate non-discretionary powers to the Community.
The Community may accept such delegation and exercise such powers.

123. The Community, by by-law of its Council passed by a majority of the members of such Council present at a special meeting called for such purpose, such majority to include the affirmative vote of at least one-half of the representatives of the City of Montréal and of at least one-half of the representatives of the other municipalities in its territory, may order that, from a date to be determined by the Government, the Community will have jurisdiction over all or part of the following matters:
(a)  recreation of an intermunicipal nature, including the establishment of regional parks;
(b)  the construction of subsidized housing centers;
(c)  the integration of the fire prevention departments;
(d)  intermunicipal libraries.
Such by-law, to come into force, shall be approved by the Government who shall fix the date of its coming into force.
Notice of such approval shall be published in the Gazette officielle du Québec.
