C-27.1 - Municipal Code of Québec

1. This Code applies to every municipality of Québec, subject to any inconsistent provision of the charter of the municipality.
However, it does not apply to a municipality governed by the Cities and Towns Act (chapter C-19), except any provision made applicable by this Code or by any other law to the municipality, or to a northern, Cree or Naskapi village.

1. This Code applies to every municipality of Québec, subject to any inconsistent provision of the charter of the municipality.
However, it does not apply to a municipality governed by the Cities and Towns Act (chapter C-19), except any provision made applicable by this Code or by any other law to the municipality, to Ville de Montréal, to Ville de Québec or to a northern, Cree or Naskapi village.

1. The Municipal Code of Québec applies to all the territory of Québec, saving any derogation contained in a special charter granted by the Legislature to any municipality. It does not apply to cities and towns or to municipalities constituted under the Act respecting municipal territorial organization (chapter O-9), and governed by the Cities and Towns Act (chapter C-19), unless otherwise provided by law.
