274. If the defence is in writing, either party may, as soon as the issue is joined, inscribe the case for proof and hearing.

274. As soon as issue is joined, either party may inscribe the case for proof and hearing; notice of such inscription must be served on the other parties.
Except where exempted for valid cause, each party must file at the office of the court, according to the procedure set out in the rules of practice, a list of witnesses and the subject of their testimony; the list must be served on the other parties.
