231. A motorcycle or moped must be equipped with at least two brake systems, one acting on the front wheel, the other on the rear wheel, with independent controls for each system. These systems must be in good working order and sufficiently powerful to stop the vehicle quickly in case of emergency and to hold it when it is standing.
