410. (Repealed).

410. The council may make by-laws:
(1)  To secure peace, order, good government, health and general welfare in the territory of the municipality, provided such by-laws are not contrary to the laws of Canada, or of Québec, nor inconsistent with any special provision of this Act or of the charter;
(2)  (Subparagraph repealed).
In no case may the council make by-laws on the matters contemplated in the Food Products Act (chapter P-29). This paragraph applies notwithstanding any provision of a special Act granting powers on those matters to any municipality other than Ville de Trois-Rivières and Ville de Sherbrooke.

(2)  To amend, replace and repeal, in whole or in part, all ordinances or by-laws made by the municipal councils previously governing the territory comprised within the municipality, and which have been continued in force within such territory.
In no case may the council make by-laws on the matters contemplated in the Agricultural Products, Marine Products and Food Act (chapter P-29) or in the Dairy Products and Dairy Products Substitutes Act (chapter P-30). This paragraph applies notwithstanding any provision of a special Act granting powers on those matters to any city or town other than the cities of Trois-Rivières and Sherbrooke.
