1. The Gouvernement may order that every person who keeps, directs, runs or manages a hotel, restaurant or club as owner, tenant or occupant, shall be bound to give his employees one day of rest, of twenty-four consecutive hours, in each week.

2. The Gouvernement may also make regulations for carrying out this act, and determine to what establishments it shall apply, what persons may benefit by it and in what manner it shall apply.

3. Notice shall be given in the Gazette officielle du Québec of the coming into force of the above provisions, and from and after the date of the said notice, all persons interested must comply with the same.

4. Any person infringing the provisions of this act or of any regulation which may be made by the Gouvernement, shall be liable to a fine of not more than fifty dollars and costs, and, in default of payment, to imprisonment for not more than one month.

5. Every prosecution under this act or the regulations made thereunder shall be taken by one of the inspectors before a judge of the sessions in the city of Montréal or Québec, or before the judge of the Provincial Court or any justice of the peace of the place where the offence was committed.
Such prosecution may also be taken by any other person, provided the prosecutor deposits beforehand with the person issuing the summons, the sum of twenty dollars as security for the costs of the prosecution.

6. The procedure to be followed shall be that prescribed by the Summary Convictions Act (chapter P-15).

7. Any inspector of industrial establishments is authorized to enter, at any hour, any of the buildings referred to in this act, for the purpose of ascertaining how it is observed.
